It’s that time of the week again! Friday is here and I feel like the weeks fly by at the moment as I am so busy. I have still had time to do some reading, and have added a couple new books to my TBR.

Ink and Bone by Rachael Caine

Ruthless and supremely powerful, the Great Library is now a presence in every major city, governing the flow of knowledge to the masses. Alchemy allows the Library to deliver the content of the greatest works of history instantly—but the personal ownership of books is expressly forbidden.

Jess Brightwell believes in the value of the Library, but the majority of his knowledge comes from illegal books obtained by his family, who are involved in the thriving black market. Jess has been sent to be his family’s spy, but his loyalties are tested in the final months of his training to enter the Library’s service.

When his friend inadvertently commits heresy by creating a device that could change the world, Jess discovers that those who control the Great Library believe that knowledge is more valuable than any human life—and soon both heretics and books will burn…

I saw the covers for this series on Instagram and I knew I had to at least check out the description as they are so beautiful! I really love books that are all about the control of information and the twist that the Library is an all powerful agency that controls the availability of knowledge speaks to me. Arrow_divider

Spontaneous by Aaron Starmer

Mara Carlyle’s senior year is going as normally as could be expected, until—wa-bam!—fellow senior Katelyn Ogden explodes during third period pre-calc.

Katelyn is the first, but she won’t be the last teenager to blow up without warning or explanation. As the seniors continue to pop like balloons and the national eye turns to Mara’s suburban New Jersey hometown, the FBI rolls in and the search for a reason is on.

Whip-smart and blunt, Mara narrates the end of their world as she knows it while trying to make it to graduation in one piece. It’s an explosive year punctuated by romance, quarantine, lifelong friendship, hallucinogenic mushrooms, bloggers, ice cream trucks, “Snooze Button™,” Bon Jovi, and the filthiest language you’ve ever heard from the President of the United States.

I received this book as a prize from Dymocks a while ago but I never ended up adding it to my TBR and it sat neglected on my shelf. I have added it to my official monthly TBR and will be planning to read it this month!

As always, GIVE ME MORE BOOKS TO READ 🙂 I always love finding new books and getting recommendations, so drop me a comment on what I should look at reading next!
