Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by BROKE and BOOKISH.

This weeks theme is all about music- books i would give theme songs too, songs i would like to read as a book, or something related to books and music.

This is one of the more abstract TTT’s i have had to create a list for, and i really had to think hard abut what songs i would like to read as a book and importantly what songs would actually be able to create a story.

I decided to stick with 5 this week, as i was really stuck as i tried to think of 10.

1 Migraine – Twenty One Pilots

I just love this band, and this song is one of my favourites not only by them but also generally just one of my favourite songs. A book about someones struggle with mental illness, or even a physical illness like migraines, seizures would be a story inspired by this song.

2. I Write Sins Not Tragedies – Panic! at the Disco

What a classic song- in the peak of P!ATD success and of probably their most famous album. A song about a scorned groom as he catches his bride with another man. Give me something set in old Victorian London with scandal and battles over inheritance and titles.

3. Pompeii – Bastielle

This is the first song i really heard from Bastielle and i fell in love with their music. It is different from what i normally listen to. As the title of the song suggests, a story set during the eruption at Pompeii, either focusing on the events before or after would be perfect.

4.  American Beauty/ American Psycho- Fall Out Boy

Another song by one of my favourite bands. When i saw the title of this song and listened to the chorus i thought of a stalker and a beauty queen- some sort of crime book or detective book. Bit dark considering the upbeat nature of the actual song!

5. Last Leaf- Ok Go

One of the more serious Ok Go songs. With Lyrics like “If you should be the last autumn leaf hanging from the tree” and “And if you should be the last seed in spring to venture out a leaf” made me think of a time where the world is totally destroyed by the effects of climate change, war or some other global event. There are not many trees, plants or animals left. The song also has a bit of a romantic feel to it, which could be included in the book.

There is my TTT for this week. Apologies for only doing 5 like last week, but i was struggling to think of 5 more that i really liked and that were not a stretch. Let me know what your TTT’s are for this week!
